Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Imphal, Manipur
Pickup from Imphal Airpot and check into hotel after some moments of relaxation we will proceed towards Kangla Fort which was the Ancient capital of Manipur and a shrine of religious and cultural heritage since 33AD. After Kangla Fort we will proceed towards Shree Shree Govindajee Temple which is the largest Vaishnava Temple located next to the palace of the former ruler’s of Manipur Kingdom which was again build in 1846 under the rule of Maharaja Nara Singh. Lastly we will visit Ima Market which is Asia’s largest women's market, where we can see how the Manipuri women are Empowered towards their day to day economic activities.
That’s all for today. We will proceed towards the Hotel and relax.Night Halt at Imphal.
Day 2: Imphal Local sightseeing
After Breakfast proceed towards Andro Village a schedule caste residents of Manipur which is an ancient village where we can witness the making of coil potteries or locally known as Charai taba potter works which is built without any Motor, And the best part of this is the pottery making is practiced only by married women. After that we can go around the village to see how handloom weaving is done and the manufacturing of local Rice beer and Wine. After visiting the villiage we can then proceed towards a park known as Santhei park which is near by the village, the park has a mesmerizing view of lake and cherry blossom tree Plantation. Beside this we can visit Ningthou which is a Fire place kept burning since time in memorial and which can’t be extinguished. While returning back to Imphal we will visit Manipur State Museum which is located near Imphal Polo Ground, it has a fairly good display of the state heritage and a collection of Potraits of Manipurs former rulers, costumes, arms and weapons, relics and historical documents. It is open during office hours, That’s all for today. We will proceed towards the Hotel and relax.Night Halt at Imphal.
Day 3: Ukhrul and sightseeing
After Breakfast check out Hotel and proceed towards Ukhrul the place which offers a mesmerizing scenic beauty of the valleys on the way, Ukhrul is a home of Tangkhul Naga tribes and is known for the state Flower “Shiroy Lily”. Next we will visit Nungpi Pottery village where one can witness the making of Black Earthenware crafted by Tangkhul tribe, the technique of this art is said to be handed down from the Neolithic Period. Before reaching Ukhrul we can visit Shangshak World War II memorial and can also drive towards Kangkhui Cave.Night Halt at Ukhrul
Day 4: Loktak Lake, Moirang INA museum and sightseeing
After Breakfast check out Hotel / Homestay and proceed towards Loktak Lake (4/5 hrs drive) which is like a miniature sea . It’s the largest fresh water lake in the Northeast India. On the way have lunch in Moirang, after lunch visit the famous INA (Indian National Army) Musuem where everyone will come to know about the history of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose fighting for India’s freedom. After cheking out with the history of Netaji proceed towards Thanga village close to Loktak Lake . Do witness an Special Art of Lotus silk clothes making by Miss. Bijiyashanti Tongbram . Lastly we will reach Loktak Lake and check in Homestay , relax for a while with a welcome Tea/Coffee and enjoy the cultural programs of Manipur (Folk dance/Music) inside the premises of the homestay.Night Halt at Loktak.
Day 5: Border Town With Myanmar and sightseeing
After Breakfast check out from homestay and proceed towards Moreh “The Border Town With Myanmar”. Starting the day with boating at Loktak lake . After boating reach Sandra Hillock from where one can have an Eagle eye view of Loktak lake, visit Keibul Lamjao National Park which is located in the south western part of the Loktak lake. This is the last natural habitat of the Brow antlered Deer (Sangai) of Manipur. Keibul Lamjao National Park is the only floating park in the world. Next we will visit IPM (Imphal Peace Museum) where again it’s a display of peace against war. There is a Japanese calligraphy of the word (Heiva) meaning peace by late Prime Minister Mr. Shinzo Abe. Next on the way to Moreh visit Khongjom it is situated on the Indo-Myanmar Road, It is a place of utmost historical importance for the venue where Major General Paona Brajabashi and other brave Manipuri warriors proved their worth in battle against the mighty force of the Invading British Army in 1891. Khongjom War Memorial constructed on the top of the hill adds to the historical ambience of the site.Night Halt at Moreh
Day 6: Departure
After Breakfast check out from hotel and proceed towards Imphal Airport lastly visit RKCS Art Gallery where the history of Manipur and India depicted by Paintings, adding more importance RKCS is also Awarded by Limca Book of Records.
Tour Ends with tons of Memories about Manipur and its Vicinity.
